You know I hate vampire stufff. It is just not normal I felt but my friend kept talking about it. All of a sudden I was hearing about this stupid series everywhere. SO my gf said if you read the first page and are not hooked you do not have to read anymore. I started it last week and am obsessed. Its like from that first page I have been reading non stop. I get so involved and am dying to know what is going to happen next.

Post 4 by metal angel (Help me, I'm stuck to my chair!) on Thursday, 01-Jan-2009 15:36:57

I just finished Breaking Dawn and loved it! Renesme's so cute! I hated the hole rib breaking thing, but oh well.

Post 5 by Miss Gorgeous (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Friday, 02-Jan-2009 20:02:22

The last book was all right. It was like the right ending as predicted. I like Eclipse more than the last book. The last book was more geared toward a good reaction from the readers. Well thats just my opinion. I enjoyed reading the whole series. The movie was all right, but I prefer reading the books instead and making my own mental descriptions on how the characters should look like.

Post 9 by SEPTEMBER-TWILIGHT (CAN I TALK? PLEASE?) on Monday, 19-Jan-2009 11:43:17

omg, lol, twilight is best series ever! I love love love love love it! I love all the books. New Moon has to be my least favorite though. It just made me wicked depressed and the things that happened in it weren't interesting at all. Breaking Dawn's my favorite. I mean, I knew or guessed everything that were going to happen in it, so it wasn't that big of a surprse, but omg, it's just amazing. And yeah, the fifth book, Midnight Sun, i read it, it's awesome. She stopped writing it though, because some stupid dickhead spreaded out to the public and that's why she posted it on her site. You guys can go check it out if you like. It's relaly worth your time, lol. The movie was just horrible. I think most of the population agrees with me, ol. Everyone was just soooooo disappointed with how it turned out. The characters were good, except Kristin Stewart/Bella. She made it all bad, lol. Her acting was horrible and she sounded like a guy through the whole movie, and omg! I didn't get the feeling that her and edward fell in love at all. It was just all awkward moment after awkward moment. So yeah, I think New Moon not going to be that grate either. But hey, they ave a new director, so yeah. I just hope this guy is better. he directed the golden compass, and taht was a good movie, so keep your fingers crossed. <3

Post 10 by tyger_lillee84 (I can't call it a day til I enter the zone BBS) on Friday, 23-Jan-2009 17:09:17

I'm ging to start the series. I found the first 2 books on the nls dtb site, but what about the third and fourth books??

Post 11 by Nitara (Veteran Zoner) on Friday, 23-Jan-2009 21:25:37

I've read the series. It was pretty good. Bella was annoying, but I liked the rest of the characters. I doubt I will ever watch the movie. The movie never does the book justice. That's my opinion anyway.

Post 12 by ItsAConspiraZ (This site is so "educational") on Saturday, 24-Jan-2009 0:16:56

I'm jealous of vampires. I'll never be that sexy.

Post 13 by metal angel (Help me, I'm stuck to my chair!) on Saturday, 24-Jan-2009 0:27:53

Lol nether will I! Lol! There awesome though. Alice, Rosalee and Renesmee are my favorites! I like Bella when she's a vampire as well as all the rest. Hmm.
Random question. If you could do any of the twilight charictors which one or ones would you do and why?

Post 14 by Nitara (Veteran Zoner) on Saturday, 24-Jan-2009 11:37:40

Definitely Edward. that guy is just amazing. ;)

Post 15 by Daenerys Targaryen (Enjoying Life) on Saturday, 24-Jan-2009 13:35:39

Edward and Alice because girls are sexy too LOL.

Post 16 by metal angel (Help me, I'm stuck to my chair!) on Saturday, 24-Jan-2009 13:37:27

I'd do Rosalee because she's sweet at times and yet she's fiesty, Alice cause she's got a fluffy personality and loves shopping like me, and Reneseme cause she's just awesome!
Oh and Bella after she'd turned.

Post 17 by complicated_melody (Zone BBS Addict) on Thursday, 12-Feb-2009 16:29:17

haha. I really don't like twilight. I read the first book and was just amazed that this actually got published. Bella is the kind of character all my professors tell us not to write, lol. she's sooooo...one dimensional. she has no personality whatsoever in my opinion and is the biggest pushover. she just does whatever Edward says and never sticks up for herself. I don't think it sends out a very good message to young girls.
and maybe I'm weird, but I didn't find Edward atractive in the least. his skin is ice cold all the time. just the thought of leaning in to kiss someone's ice cold lips, or having a deathly cold hand hold mine, I don't care how physically hot he is, that just doesn't do it for me. and he wants to kill her all the time. um? and she doesn't care? that doesn't sound like a very healthy relationship lol.
I saw soooo many things wrong with this book but sadly, will probably finish the series.

Post 18 by Click_Clash (No Average Angel) on Thursday, 12-Feb-2009 19:05:04

Oh God, I shouldn't have read this board. I'm only on Eclipse and didn't realize that Bella did indeed get turned. Well, yay for her! lol

Although, the person who said that Bella never stands up for herself has a bit of a point. She's always seemed a bit... meek to me. Hopefully that'll change as the series progresses.

And... lol, I guess if I had to pick one, it might be... Laurent. I know, he's a bit of a git, but he is kinda shmexeh. Hehehe.

Post 19 by Sword of Sapphire (Whether you agree with my opinion or not, you're still gonna read it!) on Friday, 13-Feb-2009 18:34:53

Okay, okay!
I agree with post seventeen. I have no idea what is so sexy about Edward. I used to dislike vampires because any book I picked up about them was most definitely not the right one. But I did come to think they were sexy once I got into James Patterson.
And Bella, seems to have little personality. Yes, I did just start the first book, and may not have much room to judge. But I will tell you that I really am not yet enraptured. I feel that it might take some time to get into this book, but I am willing to give it a chance.
But I don't like Stephanie's make-up of vampires. Vegetarian? Sparkling in the sunlight? Not attractive. I turn my nose up at these qualities. But there's pros and cons, appealing and unappealing qualities about everything.
I'm patient and open-minded enough to give it a chance though.

Post 20 by Godzilla-On-Toast (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Tuesday, 10-Mar-2009 6:32:39

I've got mixed feelings about the books. Like others have said, I find Bella to be annoying. But see, maybe my perspective is totally wrong because I'm probably much too old and the wrong gender for reading these books. Could be wrong, though. However, despite that, now I want to see what happens to Bella, since I've plowed through the first two books in audio form. I've never seen myself as much of a book critic, so perhaps I'm just one who can get wrapped up in a story, even though I've never read romance, let alone young adult romance in my life. But I guess I wanted to find out what all the buzz/hype was about and I thought it might be interesting what with the fantasy/horror/supernatural bits in it. I've heard the vampire element described as vampire lite, but again, I'm probably not the best one to make my own judgment call on such things. As for the movie, I'll wait until it hits Netflix, if it hasn't done so already. Not a priority at htis point, as I'm in the middle of both a Dean Koontz book and a Star Trek book, which are more where my tastes lie.

Post 21 by proud_mama2009 (Veteran Zoner) on Sunday, 19-Apr-2009 18:48:29

I'm reading Breaking Dawn. The movie wasn't worth seeing. I didn't like the actress that played Bella. Why doesn't Bella's dad do things for himself?

Post 22 by metal angel (Help me, I'm stuck to my chair!) on Wednesday, 03-Jun-2009 1:55:53

Because he's a spastic human! Lol!
"Feathers!"
If your a twilight nerd like me, you'll get it. I! love! that! part! Yay feathers!

Post 23 by BrailleNote Nut (the Zone BBS remains forever my home page) on Saturday, 11-Jul-2009 13:16:31

Yeah I loved the books. Bella wasn't that bad but I liked her better in book 4. Although, book 4 was kind of stupid, and I agree with the poster that said it was made to get good reactions from readers.

I also agree that book 3 was the best one, and book 2 was extremely depressing. Book 1 and book 3 were my favorite ones. I don't wanna spoil anything, so if you have not finished all 4 books, do not read on but instead skip the rest of this post...

I like that Victoria dies. She's a piece of crap, but really a pretty brilliant vampire all the same in my opinion. I mean, she kept creating all those new vampires, there's got to be something in that. I think that if the Cullens had not had help from Jacob, Seth, etc, they probably wouldn't have defeated all those young vampires.

Post 24 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Tuesday, 14-Jul-2009 20:31:31

I went back and forth with myself for months about this. Oh it wasn't that I wasn't interested, in fact far from it. Probably ought to blame it on a lot of those idiots who go on Amazon.com and write negative reviews just so they can see their names in print. These are the type of people who usually don't explain just why they didn't like the product in question and will subtract three or even four stars based on something over which the author in this case most likely had absolutely no control. I've seen instances where someone reviewed a DVD and subtracted four stars because their particular disk was damaged. In my opinion that's hardly fair since the complaint had to do with the disk itself and not the contents.
But getting back on track, I was a little leery about whether or not I would read the Twilight series. At one point I even downloaded the first two books from the NLS site but I just couldn't get into it, though only because the narrator's voice just got on my nerves. Well that and the third and fourth books aren't even available. Well finaly last week I broke down and used this months two Audible.com credits, that's what I'm subscribed for at the moment, to buy Twilight. First and foremost I really like Ilyana Kadushin's narration a lot better than the other lady. Yes Bella is a bit annoying but for me not as much as some people. I also wasn't impressed with Kristen Stewarts portrayal of her in the previews, and even less so now that I've actually started reading the books. But Twilight's the only book on my VR Stream that's getting any consistent attention at the moment. I really was skeptical about whether or not it would capture my interest but I'm rarely able to put my Stream down for any length of time unless I'm playing an online game. Needless to say I will be getting the rest of the series, although I think I'll leave the films alone unless I met someone extremely persuasive. Right now my favorite characters would have to be Edward and Jacob Black. It'll be interesting to see how it all unfolds for myself.

I just finished reading all 4 books of the Twilight series, it is totally awesome!

Now...for those who know about book 5 had, had a leak and Stephenie Meyer wasn't sure if she was going to complete it or not. Anyway...there is a petition out to save book 5, Midnight Sun...

Please sign the petition! http://www.savemidnightsun.com/petition.aspx

Thanks, weebles

Post 26 by Click_Clash (No Average Angel) on Monday, 20-Jul-2009 10:42:50

I might have to check that out. In my opinion, she's got no one to blame but herself for the leak. Should've been a bit more careful who she gave the chapters to, shouldn't she?

Becky

Post 27 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Monday, 20-Jul-2009 11:18:48

We're talking about the internet here, remember. I don't care how careful you are. Sooner or later something like that was bound to happen. We don't really know how it happened beyond what Stephenie reported on her web site so we're hardly in a position to point fingers. She's not Alice Cullen, remember. She couldn't see the future based on her decision. These folks she gave to were "trusted individuals." She had to have given them copies of the manuscripts of some if not all of her other books without any trouble coming of it. That sort of thing keeps up it's only natural to trust these people. As I said, we're hardly in any position to lay the blame on anybody, least of all Stephenie.

Post 28 by Reyami (I've broken five thousand! any more awards going?) on Saturday, 08-Aug-2009 9:30:46

I've tried reading the first book, but I just can't get in to it. Her writing's just ... God, it bores me.

Post 29 by Abbyforth (Veteran Zoner) on Saturday, 09-Jan-2010 23:00:14

I've loved Twilight since I picked it up in late 2007!
Feel free to contact me and we can talk about it!
My fav characters are right now Edward, Alice and Jasper.
I hope to hear from you!

Post 30 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Sunday, 17-Jan-2010 16:44:58

I didn't expect to get into the books either but needless to say I couldn't put the VR Stream down for long after I bought the series from Audible. I think it took me at most three weeks to finish the entire series.

Post 31 by mlcyclone (hunger games tribute from district 12) on Friday, 21-May-2010 19:31:44

I read the twilight series.
It was da bomb!
The movie killed my mental pictures of the people in the books.
I really love edward.
Jacob is to over protective of bella.
Bella is a pushover.
I hope that mednight sun is saved.
Edward's account of the time that he met bella was awesome!

Post 32 by mysticrain (Art is born of the observation and investigation of nature.) on Friday, 21-May-2010 19:55:00

I kept hearing all the hype about this book. how it's the thing to read after harry potter. ug. I don't get that one at all. Hp was a masterpiece!
I finally read this series. It's not great, but it's not bad. I'd give it a 3 out of 5 stars. It's average, in my opinion. Though, she really needs to find a better editor. lol. I cracked up laughing every time the narrator was forced to read a misspelled or wrong word!
As for the movie, I don't think they caste edward very well. But, I probably buy them on dvd.

I hope that the movie is as good as he book!

Post 34 by sweetest salt (Generic Zoner) on Monday, 31-May-2010 12:49:40

I didn't expect that I would love this books either but once I started I just couldn't stop. Love edward and Jaspa and rosali, do not a big fan of Bella either.

Post 35 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Thursday, 03-Jun-2010 19:47:16

Apparently Ron Howard's eldest daughter Bryce is going to be playing Victoria in Eclipse. At least that was the last thing I'd heard. And that movie's due out on my birthday.

Really?

Post 37 by singingsensation (I just keep on posting!) on Monday, 21-Jun-2010 17:58:30

I'm reading Eclipse. So far I think the series is pretty good, but not as good as Harry Potter. I really like it though. The chapters are sooo long!

Post 38 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Thursday, 24-Jun-2010 10:46:10

They're definitely that LOL. Of course I still finished the entire series in less than a month as I recall.

Post 39 by Queen Latina (Zone BBS is my Life) on Sunday, 09-Jan-2011 6:51:25

So I know this board-topic has been buried into the past, but:

...so I'm so totally confused right now, that it's just not even funny. Lol my brain just isn't made to work at 5 in the morning, after staying up all night.
But anyways,

So when I first started reading the Twilight book, I just got into it. I don't know how that was possible; I know the beginning was very slow-going, and practically bland, but I did. Maybe it was the ensessent chatter about the book that made me want to read it? Maybe it was because I was bored, and had nothing better to do. Whatever the reason had been, I got into the book.

I won't lie; I love(d) Edward when I first started reading the book. I guess I just skipped over the unatractive qualities in him, and focussed on the nice ones - mainly his smexyness. I can't really say I loved Bella at all - I guess I just looked at her as a lucky person, and sort of just payed more attention to the whole plot of the book, rather than her as a person.
As for the total mess up on vampires, well I didn't see it that way when I first started reading the book; I thought the vegetarian thing was nice and sweet, and the sparkles-in-the-sunlight was just to show how... awesome? the vampires are.

After reading a lot more vampire books, and after much time passed though, I realized that no, that book wasn't all it was made out to be. Don't get me wrong, I still think the series was okay - I finished it, after all - but I've realized that yes, there is so much better out there.

As for the 'who would I do?' question, isn't it obvious?
Jasper!

Post 40 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Monday, 10-Jan-2011 12:02:08

I'll say one thing. Both Bella and Edward got on my nerves at certain points. I liked the series, I really did, but there were just times when I wanted to reach through the book and punch both of them.
